I took part in a design opportunity in January which ran for nine weeks till the end of March. The free training course is for 15-25 year olds who are interested in re-imagining the city, especially Kelham Island. It ran for an hour every Wednesday on Zoom by Ignite Yorkshire (We Are IVE). In the nine weeks we were asked to design a proposal for Riverside Square in Kelham Island. On the calls we listened to professionals talking about the history of Kelham before brainstorming in small groups about our ideas. I was in a group with two other people, where we decided on what we'd like to put in the space such as places to socialise, creating a forest and creating a living wall art mural on the wall. At the end of the course we presented our work on Google Slides to professional panellist who would judge our work and let us know if they were going to take our ideas further.
